Story 1 of 4 · 2 min read
Her mother called on Sunday afternoon, like she always did. They hadn't managed to touch base all week — work had been relentless, and days had blurred into each other.
“You sound caught up,” her mother said, not unkindly. “I am,” she admitted. “But I’m glad you called.” They talked for almost an hour, about nothing important and everything at once.
When she hung up, she noticed something she hadn't expected: relief. Whatever the week had cost her, this call had been worth it.

founder note
I've caught myself nodding along to conversations I was only half following more often than I'd like. I remember it clearly, standing across from someone I actually wanted to get to know, getting maybe half of what they said. I was still translating their last sentence when the next one arrived, so I nodded along and let my questions go unasked. More fast conversations like that were never the answer, since none slow down to teach you. What slipped past me wasn't the words. It was the experience of being in that conversation.
I started Saga with Vietnamese and English because those are the two languages I can hold to a standard I stand behind. Everything else waits its turn.
